Prism Video File Converter App Reviews
Worked great for me!
As good as it gets!.. I needed to convert an .avi file to a .mov file. Worked easily, without any issue. Great tool. Thanks.
NOT ONLY IT DOESN’T CONVERT MOST OF FILES, BUT IT CRASHES AND KNOW EVEN WORST, UNBELIEVABLE THING: THE WON’T CLOSE, IT IS OPEN BUT NOTHING APPEARS ,AND IT DOESN’T LET ME DELETE IT !
Great converter dellivers on promises
Finally, a free converter that does what it says it will do and is easy to use in an intuitive way. Thanks developers
I spent 2 hours looking for software to covert a .264 file. Not even my Adobe suite could handle the file. In desperation, I downloaded Prism Video File Converter - it was free and worth a try. Amazing! In 15 minutes I had 5 files converted and ready for my project. Thank you for a great app!
Not Stable
Was not able to convert a single file. Application would quit unexpectedly when clicking on Convert.
Crashes
Everytime I try to convert a video, the program crashes before I can start. This is useles, don’t waste your time.
Tried to convert .vob file to .mov and mp4 files == then tried quicktime (which supports those file formats) and it wouldn’t run either — Tried to preview the original file and Prism said it could not open it.. I know it is feee — but not a good intro to product. Ok… after more trials — apparently Prism cannot open/process .vob files that are less than 1 meg… Have tried up .884kb and it could not preview nor convert ..
I needed a .wmv file transferred so I eventually came across this program. It was easy to understand and of course free. Theres not a whole lot of explination in the app store of its capabilities with specific files, but I thought I would just try it out anyway, cause I could always delete it. The give away of course is in the screen shots, you can see there is an .avi file AND a .wmv. I transferred a .wmv file into an .mov and it was smooth a butter. The compression on the file may have still been high, so I used compressor to expand it into a Pro Res 422 file so that I could edit it in Final Cut Pro 7, which is still the best (Apple please pick FCP7 back up for support and updates! cause I want to edit 4k one day) Anyway, it’s a great little program so far, it made my .wmv into a .mov so Im happy.
I wanted to make an App Preview with this but it won’t create a 750x1334 mov video required by apple. I type that in, and it changes it to 750x1336 which Apple will not accept
Needed to veiw a video file someone emailed me in .wmv format that I couldn’t open on mac mini. Very simple to use, prompted me to choose file to convert and then where to save it. Very quick, took less then two minutes and I was watching my new video.
Free Version: Dropped several .mov files into Prism, files which played fine in QuickTime using FlipForMac. Prism reported “error: could not open movie” to every one. Willing to re-review if Prism tells me why and how to make it work.
AMAZING!
This does exactly what you want it todo, amazing amzing amazing!
So easy to use and it does what you want it to do without the extra fuss. So far I have not had the need to buy the IAP, but if you do a lot of video file work do yourself a favor and use this app. You will not be sorry. I use it on a fully decked out mid-2014 rMBP. It will converert eight video files simultaneously in about two minutes. And I am not talking about small files here. These were hi-def vids that I needed to convert AND compress. No glitches, no sluggishness, and no errors! And to top it off… it was whilst using battery power. So if it will do that on this computer, I am sure it will be very good on slower/older models as well. Enjoy and God bless!
